To promote AIB’s sponsorship of GAA Club and County, AIB challenged one devoted Dublin fan named Andy to prove his loyalty to his club by giving up his ticket for the All-Ireland football final to support his rival county on match day.

The brave club player ditched his blue jersey and cheered for the Kingdom in a pub packed with staunch Dublin GAA supporters. Everything was captured by hidden cameras and Dessie Farrell, Chief Executive of the Gaelic Players Association, later revealed to Andy and the crowd that he had won €5,000 for his club.

The response to the film was fantastic. The idea and Andy’s bravery and loyalty captured the imaginations of GAA fans all over Ireland, with most of them recoiling at the thought of supporting the wrong team! This really showed our audience that AIB understand their passion. With over 471,000 views, the video was a great success and was picked up by the Irish media, including Joe.ie and The Journal.
