Hailo Ireland was soon to be 3 years old. They were facing strong competition in Dublin from Uber and Lynk, so we needed to defend their position as market leader by creating nationwide talk-ability around Hailo’s 3rd birthday.
Our approach was simple, we wanted to celebrate our 3rd birthday while celebrating our most loyal customers. First we launched with a video to make people stand up and take notice. We created the ‘3 year old taxi driver’. Next we used this video to push people onto our site where they could win a Euro of credit for every 1km they’d travelled with us, as a thank you for their custom.
We wanted all of our customers to feel like they were invited to our birthday party. So we created a series of birthday surprises around the country. From a Hailo-cab-bouncy-castle, which travelled around to our corporate clients, to a nationwide, in-cab game of pass the parcel, it’s safe to say we had a lot of fun on our birthday.
The campaign was shared on Facebook, Twitter and Youtube with a total view count of over 900,000 views across the board and featured on Mashable UK, AdWeek, Creativity Online Editor’s Pick, Lürzer’s Archive, Bestadsontv.com and many other media sites.
