College Brief Programme


The success of the Upstarts programme is a testament to the talent and enthusiasm of ICAD’s younger members. It is important that we foster and promote that talent in colleges too and ICAD College Briefs gives our future members a snapshot of the design and advertising industries. In the academic year 2017/18 we will launch the College Briefs programme in art colleges across Ireland. The programme will set a brief that will be run through a workshop with Creative Directors from ICAD’s membership. Its aim is to encourage an agile and productive creative process focusing on ideation and then implementation. Students will be given a set amount of time to complete the brief after which it will be critiqued. This introduction to ICAD will give essential direction for young design and advertising students entering the industry. In the meantime we invite you to view and download a selection of sample briefs – we hope they will allow students to strengthen their portfolios and lecturers are also welcome to download and use the briefs.
