The new Upstarts
It’s an exciting time in ICAD HQ as we get ready to welcome another crop of Upstarts. Everyone who applied for the 2016 ICAD Upstarts Programme has now been informed as to whether or not they got in. It’s never a pleasant task to tell hopefuls that they haven’t been accepted, we just hope that they (or you) aren’t too disheartened and take it as a challenge to apply again next year. Repeat applications have been a feature of the ICAD Upstarts Programme and when people get on after a second or third attempt, they’re often the ones who get every last bit of value out of it and go on to do really well.
So, on to this year’s Upstarts – congratulations. We’re looking forward to taking this next journey in your careers with you. We know that the ICAD Upstarts Programme will push doors open for you. You will work on some great briefs, hone your creative skills, build on your presentation skills and make lots of industry contacts. Use them. Make sure that when that door is pushed open for you, you’re ready to shine!
Just some of the agencies and studios running workshops this year are Bossanova, Boys and Girls, Designworks, ebow, Irish International, Ogilvy, Publicis, Red Dog, RichardsDee, Rothco and The Public House. We’ll keep updating the details here as and when we get them. In the meantime, a big welcome to our new Upstarts – Cian, Dalian, Dean, Eoin, Fiona, Gabriel, Gerard, Jack, Johnny, Kevin, Lorraine, Luiza, Mark, Nicola, Paul, Paul, Siofra and Stephen.
