Representing your country is every young player’s dream. Many have the talent. Many have the physicality. Many have the mental strength. Few have it all. This 6 Nations campaign, the first for Three’s sponsorship of the Irish Rugby team, explores all it takes to play for Ireland, delving into the physical and psychological obstacles the players must overcome. Featured are Ireland captain Paul O’Connell ‘demolishing his opponent’, out-half Johnny Sexton ‘conquering his nerves’ and Robbie Henshaw ‘feeling the burn’.

These images share similarities to the scenes from the TV campaign but crucially the executions are different so as to fully take advantage of the outdoor medium. The tight crops on the player’s create an arresting and dramatic campaign (especially when blown up to 48 sheet format) that suitably fuses the Three brand with Irish Rugby team in a real and meaningful manner.
