Aidan Mehigan had left his job and London behind to pursue his dream of starting his own whiskey distillery. With plans well underway and a building in Waterford in the works he briefed us to design a brand and packaging for his new distillery. Gortinore was to be the name of the distillery which was to initially and primarily be a whiskey distillery but may diversify into other spirits in the future. Aidan had engaged illustrator Kelvin Mann to produce an illustration for each of the Whiskey blends and he tasked us to make these work with the label and packaging design. For the identity we adapted of Grilli Type Sectra and produced a bespoke alphabet for communications materials.
